Customs Brokerage and Clearance Services
U.S. Customs Export Clearance Services:
U.S. Customs requires the title or a copy of the title to be submitted 72 hours in advance of the export.
Faxing the title is allowed. But in the event that U.S. Customs have no record of receiving the title they will turn the exporter away an require another 72 hour period.
Other problems with the U.S. Customs range form restricted hours of submission to different procedures in different ports.
Quite often we store vehicles for exporter who are turned around by U.S. Customs at the border. It is a very expensive process to turn the truck around, store the vehicle then reload and resend the vehicle.
Can Am Auto Importers provides a service where we prepare all of the necessary documentation and personally take the title to the export desk at U.S. Customs. We receive a receipt as being received. This is our guarantee that your vehicle will not be turned around at the U.S. border.
Fees for this service are based on volumes, please call for pricing. 716-873-3097

Canadian Customs Brokerage:
All commercial imports into Canada require a Canadian Customs Entry in which the form B-3 is presented and GST and Duties paid.
Can Am has partnered up with the finest of Canadian Customs Houses to guarantee a smooth import into Canada.
In order for Can Am to set up a Canadian Brokerage account we need to get a Canadian Customs Power of Attorney signed by the principle of the importing company.
In order to prepare the Canadian Customs Power of Attorney we need the following information:
With this information we will prepare a Canadian Customs Power of Attorney and email it for signing after we receive the signed copy we will set up the account and prepare all the necessary documentation.
Canadian Customs Valuation: there must be documentation accompanying the Customs paperwork in the form of a appraisal or a third party valuation company. Failure to provide this will result in customs using the Canadian Red Book Retail value which is substantially higher than any third party evaluation.
RIV Form 1
Can Am Auto Importers prepare the Canadian RIV form 1. This is presented to Canadian Customs at import and certification fees are paid. Can Am submits the form 1 to the Registrar of Imported Motor Vehicles. The Registrar will then send the importer an RIV 2 form.
The importer then has up to 45 days to take the imported vehicle to a RIV Registered inspection facility. At that time any required modification can be made.
The Registrar of Imported Motor Vehicles has designated all Canadian Tire Outlets as an acceptable inspection center. For large trucks and other types of vehicles, please contact our office and we will direct you to a facility that will fit your needs.
